Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.   Proverbs 22:6

"In early childhood you may lay the foundation of poverty or riches, industry of idleness, good or evil, by the habits to which you train your children. Teach them right habits then, and their future life is safe.   - Lydia Sigourney

I love both of these quotes! The one from Proverbs is an old favorite of mine that I read to myself over and over as I was raising my 3 children.

I have never read the one by Sigourney but I love what it says. I think children are much more influenced by their childhood experiences than people may realize.

Crystal,

I love that you quoted scripture in this post. That verse is so true! Parents and teachers are responsible for guiding children in the direction that is right. If children do not have guidance early in life, then they will still be wandering around aimlessly through adulthood. Thanks for sharing!
